Action Button

One setup, then one press.

The app is built around a single Shortcut action: Tap to Translate. The setup page walks the user through the exact iPhone steps.

  1. Open SettingsOn iPhone, open Settings and choose Action Button.
  2. Choose ShortcutSelect Shortcut as the Action Button behavior.
  3. Pick Tap to TranslateChoose the Shortcut that runs Take Screenshot, then Tap to Translate.
  4. Press onceOpen any screen, press the Action Button, and wait for OneTap Translate.

Why it works

Designed for the moment when copying text is not enough.

01

Screen stays readable

OneTap Translate keeps the original layout visible, then places the translated text where you actually need it.

02

Made for the Action Button

Create one Shortcut, assign it once, and use the hardware button whenever a foreign-language screen gets in the way.

03

Private by design

Screenshots, OCR text, settings, and optional history are handled on the iPhone in version 1.0.

Privacy

No account. No tracking. No developer-hosted screenshot storage.

Version 1.0 is intentionally simple: the translation workflow is triggered by the user, and the app keeps screenshot handling local to the device.

Support

Clear answers for the exact setup problems.

Why do I see “No screenshot was passed”?

The Shortcut must run Take Screenshot first, then pass that image to Tap to Translate from OneTap Translate.

Does OneTap Translate read other apps silently?

No. iOS requires the user to trigger the Shortcut or choose a screenshot. The app cannot silently read another app's screen.

Why is a language pair unavailable?

Version 1.0 uses Apple's on-device translation path where available. Some language pairs depend on Apple's local language support.
